Testimonials

Denise Donlon (MuchMusic executive vice-president & general manager)

“There's a lady with a great set of lungs...A & R alert.”

(Mary Lee Hester, Mountain Press, Asheville NC and The Mississippi Rag)

“Lucianne Evans has star quality. She grabs a tune and flings it out into the audience in a delightful burst of energy. The audience is ecstatic. No one expected such a confident display from this petite woman."

Dr. Herb Wong-jazz historian, educator, and longtime curator of the Stanford Jazz Workshop and International Association of Jazz Educators (IAJE) Hall of Fame)

“As a long time observer of jazz and it's finest vocalists, I can attest that Lucianne Evans stands among those rare singers who truly understand the essence of jazz communication.”

Robert Carmack (Founder & Chief Content Creator of Pocket JAZZ presents)

"Lucianne Evans is one of those rare find vocalists who knows how to interpret a lyric. Even her vocalese is the best I've heard of the new crop of singers."

Andy "Jazzman" Smith - NPR's The Jazzman Show Murray State University KY)

Ken Burns did an historic documentary, JAZZ on PBS. There is no controversy about what she does, she swings. Lucianne Evans is blessed with the intelligence to set free all the necessary elements of a good vocal instrument. She can flat out sing. She boldly steps onto the singer's high wire - an art form called vocalese - interpreting an existing jazz solo through intimate familiarity with the piece. She thrills audiences by singing lyrics to each note.

Tony Kiss (Asheville Citizen Times)

Charles Ellison (Head of Music Concordia University)

"All You Want to Do is Sing" Reintroducing Lucianne

"All You Want to Do is Sing" Reintroducing Lucianne

Lucianne Evans is a jazz and adult-contemporary vocalist whose artistic life spans decades, cities, and creative evolutions. Born and raised just east of Pittsburgh, family lore says that just shy of her third birthday, she corrected her grandfather’s off-key rendition of “Take Me Out to the Ballgame,” insisting, “It goes like this.”

Isn't it fun to get older? Frosty the Snowman was recorded in 2000, but this little thirty-second video is from today.
